Frequently asked questions
How to use MapWorthy
1. Create your account
Enter your email and choose a password. We send you a confirmation email — open it, press "Confirm my email", then log in.
2. Create your brand
Give us your brand name and tell us where most of your stores are — a city or province. We use that to look your brand up on Google Maps. Pick up to four cuisine categories that describe what you sell, and add any names we should treat as competitors. Then press "Create brand — start evaluating".
3. Confirm your stores
If we found listings on Google Maps that look like yours, they are waiting in Brand settings under Your own locations. Tick the ones that are yours and press "Add selected". Anything we missed, add by address. We use your stores for two things: to warn you when a new site would sit too close to one you already have, and to make sure your own stores are never counted as competitors.
4. Evaluate a site
Pick your brand, type the address of the site you are considering, and press Evaluate Site. Monthly rent and whether the site has a drive-thru are optional — add them if you know them. The report builds while you watch.
Tick "Calibration evaluation" only if the address is one of your own operating stores. It stops that store counting as a rival to itself.
5. Read the report
At the top you see a score and an answer. Below it, the full report walks through the deal-breakers, a map of the site, the score breakdown, late-night activity nearby, the competitors around the site, and photos of the site where we have them. It also shows who lives nearby. If you have added your stores, the report tells you when the site is too close to one of them.
6. Save, compare, print
Save to account keeps the report under Saved sites. Add to compare puts it side by side with other sites — up to five at a time. Print gives you a clean copy for a meeting. Re-evaluate builds the report again from scratch instead of showing you the one you already have.
7. Brand settings
Change your categories and competitor names, manage your stores, see how many evaluations you have used, or add another brand. Deleting a brand removes it from your account.
